The Philosophy of
Evaporation

The Jōhatsu

蒸発

In Japan, there is a phenomenon known as Jōhatsu—literally, "The Evaporated People." These are not criminals on the run. They are ordinary people: salarymen crushed by debt, students facing the shame of failure, or spouses trapped in loveless marriages.

They utilize legitimate "night moving" services (yonige-ya) to vanish into the night, leaving their burdens behind to start a second life. In Japan, the right to disappear is quietly understood as a survival mechanism.

The Reality in India

In India, we do not have a word for this, but we have the suffering.

  • ///The student contemplating suicide over an exam result.
  • ///The woman unable to divorce due to societal stigma and family pressure.
  • ///The debtor harassed by loan sharks despite honest intent to work.

Our society often leaves no room for failure. It says: "You must endure." But endurance without hope is not life—it is a prison.

Status 410: Gone

In HTTP web protocol, Status 404 means "Not Found." But Status 410 is different. It means "Gone." It indicates that the resource was here, but it has been intentionally removed and will never return.

We built Status410 to offer a third option between "Endurance" and "Suicide." That option is Reset.

We do not help criminals evade the law. We help humans escape their cages. We believe that privacy is not just for the wealthy—it is a fundamental human right for the desperate.
